Sri Lanka In ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 Final
In a first semi final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, Sri Lanka has beaten New Zealand in tense match. Batting first New Zealand made 217 losing all their wickets. In reply Sri Lanka overcome this total in 48.5 overs. They win by 5 wickets. They archived this target with 13 balls remaining. The final will be played on Saturday 2nd April 2011. It will be between tomorrow’s match winner and Sri Lanka. Mind you India is taking on Pakistan in second semi final tomorrow.
Earlier today New Zealand started their innings quietly. At one moment they were 161-3 in 39 overs. Taylor who have made 36 and Scott Styris (57 runs) were playing good but after this they collapsed like house of cards, and only manages to make 217. 20 runs more could have made this match more interesting.
From Sri Lanka’s side Dilshan (73 runs) and Captain Sangakkara (54 runs) made good partnership. Wickets were falling but Samarweera and Methews kept their nerves to ensure win and tickets to Mumbai Final.
