This was mix test cricket day for both India and Srilanka. India has the first session, while Srilanka rules for the other two sessions.

- At Tea Sri Lanka where 225/8 in 74.0 overs
- BAW Mendis made his maiden test 50 off 122 balls in which he hitted 5 x 4, 1 x 6.
- In the end Sri Lanka made 267/10 in 85.2 overs. Ajantha Mendis made crucial and decider 78. While T.T. Samaraweera made 83 in this fighting total.
- India loses his 3 top order batsman in first 15 overs.
- End Of Day India were fighting hard to survive on 53/3. While SR Tendulkar 11 and night watch man I Sharma playing on 2 runs.
I hope, but just hope Tendulkar does any magic yesterday, otherwise its curtains for Indians.
