Mumbai Indians In Semi Finals, Kings XI Punjab Also Win
In two matches today in IPL3 MI and Kings XI Punjab won there matches.
In the first match today Kings XI Punjab chased DD’s Nelson score 111 all out and win by seven wickets. They made 112 for 3, in which Jayawardene made 38. Batting first Delhi Daredevils only manages to made 111. It was terrible wicket and King’s Irfan Pathan took 3 for 24, while MOM Chawla took 2 for 16.
In the second game today Mumbai Indians become first team to be in IPL3 semis. They have beaten Rajasthan Royals first time in Jaipur. It was first defeat for RR on this home ground. Batting first Mumbai Indians made 174 for 5 thanks to Orange Cap holder Sachin Tendulkar not out 89. Shane Watson from RR has given some early hick ups to Mumbai and took 3 for 37. But it was class of little master & MOM Tendulkar who made his best IPL score and saw his team to a very good total. Rajasthan never looked in hunt and only manages to make 137 for 8 in their quota of 20.0 Overs.
Sachin Tendulkar go two awards for his masterful innings. First one was Most sixes and next one was Man of the match. I would say third one was Orange cap.
He said in the presentation: “We needed a solid performance and I thought 170 plus total was competitive. Full marks to the way our faster bowlers bowled at the start, Zaheer especially was fantastic. The target during our batting was to stay towards the end. It was up to me and Duminy, we knew the big overs would come at one stage. The fielding was great, JP took a great catch and the ground fielding was good too. In the first time, this was the same ground that made us lose the semi-final spot and in the same ground we have made our way to the semis, it feels good. I better make sure I keep scoring fifties (on told that whenever he’s made a fifty Mumbai have won this season). The ball was coming onto the bat, there was not much bounce but it was a good wicket.“
