Yesterday Mumbai Indian beat Deccan Chargers by 63 runs. Tiruptai Rayudu was MOM for his unbeaten 55 runs.
In today’s IPL3 34th Match Kings XI Punjab chased Kolkata Knight Rider’s 200 for 3 in which Chris Gayle made 88. They made 204 for 2 thanks to MOM Jayawardene’s 110 not out and win by eight wickets with 10 balls still to be bowled.
Captain Sangakkara Said : “I thought Mahela’s 100 was the highlight. Gayle nearly took it away from us but we wanted to be positive coming into bat and it worked for us. We are an excellent side, better than the situation we have put ourselves in. I think Mahela has been brilliant in the middle order but he showed us today that he can bat anywhere in the line-up and Yuvi finished it off really well for us tonight. We want to take each game as it comes and put up a great display for everyone watching.”
While Jayawardene said: “I wasn’t supposed to be playing tonight but when I got the call, it wasn’t a surprise, I went up to Sanga and asked him if I could open and he obliged.”
