In the 46th ipl3 match here at Nagpur Deccan Chargers win by 13 runs. Batting first DC made 151 for 6. It was Rohit Sharma’s 51 and Mishra’s 41 they manages to reach this modest target in this big ground. Batting second Royal Challengers Bangalore only manages to make 138 all out. Rahul Dravid shows some resistance up in the order with 49, otherwise all other batsmen got out cheaply. RP Singh took 2-21, while purple cap holder Ojha continues to add in his wicket tally, with 2 for 22. But it was MOM Harmeet Singh’s 19th over which turned the match. He ends with figures of 2 For 24.
In the presentation he said: “Firstly I would like to thank my mum and dad, also my coaches who have shaped my career. I have been practicing the slower ball for a long time now, glad it’s all coming good. Getting Uthappa’s wicket was very crucial, the captain had faith in me to bowl the 19th over so it feels really special.”
Adam Gilchrist looked happy and said: “It was an incredible effort, what a unique game this is, you can get out in the first ball of the match but still end up on the winning side, this is the beauty of team sport. Few of the Bangalore boys found out that the ground is a lot bigger than it is in Bangalore but the spell from Steyn was just brilliant. We have had some great support here and even in Cuttack. Another fantastic effort from Ojha. So very proud of Harmeet, he delivered the goods last year, didn’t feature in the line up early on but he has done a fantastic job.”
