Mumbai Indians have won the Match from Kolkata Knight Riders by a mere 9 runs. JP Duminy was the star batsman for the Mumbai Indians as he scored 52 runs in 37 balls with one 4 and four 6′s. Sachin Tendulkar who seems to be have adopted the T20 format scored 34 runs with three 4′s and two 6′s. Six bowler from the KKR took 1 wicket each but the Chris Gayle was the most economical as he took 1/21 runs in his 4 over spell.
Brad Hodge made the most damage for the Mumbai Indians as he scored 73 runs on 60 deliveries with five 4′s and three 6′s in his innings. But his effort went into vein, he was run out befor he could lead the team to a win. Zaheer Khan took 3/31 it was the best bowling effort for his Team. The change in the opening pair of KKR fails to do the trick. As Saurav aka DADA went for duck in the opening over of Zaheer Khan who bowled him. Even Gayle fail to leave an impact in this season of IPL 2 2009. After this loss the chance of KKR to enter in to the 2nd round of the IPL league has vanished.
